Andy Boyd joined Brighton Park Capital as a Senior Advisor in October of 2023. Andy was previously a Senior Intelligence Service (SIS) Officer in Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations (DO). His most recent assignment was Director for the Central Intelligence Agency’s Center for Cyber Intelligence (CCI) which is responsible for intelligence collection, analysis, and operations focused on foreign cyber threats to US interests. This position required regular interaction with DCIA, the White House, Congress, and senior officials from DoD, FBI, DHS, and an array of foreign partners’ senior officials from across the globe.
Andy has experience leading worldwide intelligence operations and has in-depth knowledge of geopolitics, cyber operations and policy, and security practices and risk mitigation. He is a respected thought leader within the USG cyber and intelligence communities with expertise in cyber threats, intelligence collection, covert action, counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cyber operations, and strategic analysis.
Prior to his role as Director of CCI, Andy served as Chief of Operations, Counterterrorism Mission Center (CTMC). He led global counterterrorism operations against multiple global terror organizations via USG unilateral operations and jointly with multiple international partners. Andy was personally involved with many of the most consequential counterterrorism operations of the past decade.
Prior to his service in CTMC, Andy served as a Chief of Station (CoS) in a country in the Middle East leading the full scope of US intelligence operations in an austere combat zone including operations, security, and force protection of the CIA workforce. Andy likewise served as a Deputy Chief of Station and an Acting Chief of Station of a large CIA Station in the Middle East. In addition to leading the CIA work force at multiple CIA field locations, Andy represented DCIA and other USG leaders to numerous foreign partners.
In 2010-2012 Andy led the CIA work force in HQS and the field engaging in critical intelligence operations to inform policy-makers regarding the “Arab Spring” revolutions across North Africa. He represented CIA in high level policy meetings in Washington up to and including Oval Office engagements with the President and his staff.
Prior to joining CIA, Andy served for a decade as a US State Department Foreign Service Officer (FSO) at the US Embassies in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Tunisia, Iraq, and Syria. Andy served as an active duty U.S. Air Force intelligence officer from 1993-1999. He earned a B.S. in History from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1993, an M.A. in International Relations from Catholic University in 1997, and a M.S. in Strategic Policy from the National War College in 2013.
Andy is currently an Adjunct Professor at Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Alperovich Institute. He teaches Cyber Policy and Strategy.
Andy lives in Arlington, Virginia, is the proud father of two girls, 14- and 11-years old, and is an avid runner, mountain biker, and reader.
